ROCHESTER, Minn. — Immigrants and refugees make up 12 percent of Olmsted County's population. United Way of Southeast Minnesota collaborates with partners like the Intercultural Mutual Assistance Association (IMAA) to support these individuals with resources and opportunities as they contribute to the community. IMAA, established in 1984, has focused on aiding refugees from various backgrounds in Rochester. With support from United Way since 1986, IMAA has grown from a small nonprofit to a key community resource with 31 staff members. Armin Budimlic, a refugee from Bosnia, joined IMAA in 1998.
