Residents of Green can now use "Green, OH" along with their current ZIP code on their addresses, according to a Sept. 23 news release from the city.

While the U.S. Postal Service did not assign the city a single ZIP code, it agreed to let residents and businesses use Green as their city name effective immediately, the release said.

“This is a win for our community and our collective identity in the region,” Mayor Rocco Yeargin said.

Yeargin and city officials encourage residents and businesses to begin using Green as their city line to strengthen the case for an official single ZIP code.

Residents currently use six ZIP codes, with the more widely used ones, 44685 (Uniontown) and 44720 (North Canton), belonging to places outside of Summit County.
