MADISON (WKOW) — A local autism advocacy group, the Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin, said President Trump’s recent comments about Tylenol and pregnancy can trigger confusion and feelings of guilt among families with autistic children.

Megan Hufton is the Education and Training Specialist with the group and is also the mother to two teenagers, AJ and Asher, who live with autism.

"Yesterday, they even made a comment like, it's, 'it's horrible to watch a child with autism, ' and that's just not how I want people viewing my kids," Hufton said.

Hufton also said mothers often blame themselves when it comes to their kids' conditions. She said she worries that parents' guilty feelings may lead them to jump to conclusions or solutions.
