KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Only 15 days into her new role, Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway wants to help make the metro safer.
On Tuesday, Hanaway attended the Kansas City Police Board of Police Commissioners meeting.
“Fighting crime is going to be my number one priority,” Hanaway said. “In terms of forming this partnership, I want to work closely with the elected prosecutor. I want to work closely with all of you to find out exactly what you need and how we can be helpful.”
Hanaway said she is currently recruiting to expand her Kansas City office.
“There are a couple of things we can do, obviously, we can loan talent to the prosecutor’s office to help with the case burden, we can take some cases on, we also have some new tools to work on homelessness,” Hanaway said.
