SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- With its centennial right around the corner, the historic Ludlow school celebrated the beginning of a new era Sept. 15.
The newly christened Ludlow Early Learning Center welcomed its inaugural class of 140 Universal Pre-K ( UPK ) students, ages 3-5, into the fully renovated building.
Designed to prepare fledgling scholars for a successful transition to kindergarten, “the program emphasizes foundational skills in a nurturing and engaging environment,” according to information from Shaker Heights City Schools.
Ludlow also becomes the only preschool in Ohio to offer the prestigious International Baccalaureate Programme philosophy, which continues in the district from kindergarten through 12th grade.
