HELENA — We learn something with each week of the high school football and Week 4 was no different, with ranked matchups in four of Montana's five classifications.

One of those games featured Billings Central and Laurel in a rematch of the 2024 Class A state championship game. Yet, Friday was no contest as the Rams rolled past the Locomotives in a No. 1 vs No. 2 game, 35-0.

It sent a clear message that the Rams are the team to beat in Class A, just as we suspected. There was also a top-three matchup in Class B won by Manhattan. Top-ranked Scobey eked out a four-point win over No. 7 Ekalaka in 8-man football, 42-38.

In 6-Man, Lincoln won the game of the week, defeating Power-Dutton-Brady by 16 points, ahead of another ranked showdown with Hot Springs.
