POWELL, Ohio — A summer-long traffic enforcement effort along Sawmill Parkway led to fewer crashes and fewer injuries, Powell police said Tuesday.

The S.A.F.E. Passage Initiative, launched May 1 by the Powell Police Department, resulted in 480 traffic stops, including 396 warnings and 84 citations.

There were nine crashes on Sawmill Parkway this summer, compared to 13 in summer 2024. Only two of this year’s crashes involved injuries, down from eight the previous year. That reflects a 31% overall drop in crashes and a 75% reduction in injury-related crashes.
