WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - One of the two suspects, charged in connection with violently killing a pet rabbit in Westfield last year has been sentenced.
20-year-old Alexey Dimoglo of West Springfield was sentenced to two years of probation last week. He pleaded guilty to charges of animal cruelty and malicious killing of a domestic animal.
Dimoglo will have to follow several conditions including not having contact with certain people, not consuming alcohol or using drugs, and being electronically monitored.
The other suspect in this case has a jury trial date set in December, nearly a year after the two men were arrested for killing the rabbit at a house party.
