Shane Pinto, who tied the game with two minutes to play in regulation, scored at 16 seconds of the extra period, beating Artur Akhtyamov on a breakaway at Scotiabank Arena.

The Ottawa victory came 48 hours after the Leafs beat the Sens in their pre-season opener.

Goaltender Dennis Hildeby shone in the Leafs net, stopping all 23 shots he faced through two periods. Akhtyamov was in goal for Toronto in the third period and was beaten by Fabian Zetterlund for a shorthanded goal.
