SEATTLE — Seattle police are looking for a driver who jumped the University Bridge in a stolen car during a pursuit last week, then abandoned the damaged vehicle and ran away.
Officers attempted a stop after they came across the reportedly stolen car near Eastlake. Police said the car fled through the neighborhood. Officers located the vehicle a short time later in traffic on Eastlake Avenue East near the University Bridge, which was lowering back into position.
The car went airborne before landing and continuing north. The vehicle was later found abandoned near Pasadena Place East with significant front-end damage and a shattered windshield.
The case comes amid an increase in drivers attempting to elude police across King County.
