Dominican had executed the game plan to near perfection through most of the three sets it played in a volleyball state championship rematch against Slidell.

But with the final-set lead trimmed to three points, coach Jessica Chatellier called a timeout so she could give her girls a quick reminder.

“They just needed to take a deep breath and stay in control and manage what they had done all match,” Chatellier said.

From there, Dominican scored the final three points to secure a 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 sweep on Tuesday against the same school that beat it in the state final last season. The loss last November snapped Dominican’s run of four consecutive state championships.
