A man was arrested for allegedly shooting the mother of his child during a dispute over custody in Pembroke Pines, police said.

Otis Leevel Johnson, 24, was charged in connection with Tuesday morning's shooting at an apartment at Northwest 78th Terrace and Northwest 3rd Street, Pembroke Pines Police said.

According to investigators, Johnson went to the victim's home and got into a dispute with several people over child custody. He had a previous relationship with the victim and they have a child in common.

Johnson then pulled out a gun and fired toward a man, another woman and the victim, police said. The man fired back, but no one was struck.
