Board members for Norman Public Schools approved policy changes in the district’s latest school board meeting, a district representative told News 9 on Monday.

One of the policies includes how the district will deal with ICE agents on campus.

The school board said student safety is a top priority.

"I think we can all agree that ICE being on school grounds would create a substantial disruption to our educational process, and so we now have it in writing that when those officials come, they will be held in our public areas and referred to our district admin or the legal counsel,” said Board Member Dawn Reitan-Brockman.
