TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - As results for the Congressional District 7 Special Election roll through, Dem. Adelita Grijalva is leading in the race.
As of 8 p.m. on Sept. 23, Grijalva is leading the race with a total of 48,548 votes, which is more than 71 percent.
Rep. Daniel Butierez follows behind with a total of 18,420 ballots cast, totaling to 27 percent.
Eduardo Quintana, of the Green Party, received 817 votes, while Richard Grayson, of the No Labels Party, saw an amount of 395 votes.
Of the six Arizona counties included in the CD7 Special Election, there were over 440,000 registered voters for this year's election. Pima County had nearly 267,000 registered voters, Santa Cruz County had more than 32,000 and Cochise County had over 18,000.
