WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a vehicle on a road in Watauga County, troopers say.
On Sept. 20, around 4 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a deadly crash on Pottertown Road near Meat Camp Road.
A 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on Pottertown Road when the driver attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle in a no-passing zone. The motorcyclist then lost control, overturned, and was struck by a westbound 2017 Jeep Compass.
The motorcyclist, Michael Lyn Holman, 51, of Elk Park, was critically injured. He was taken to the Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He later died on Sept. 22.
The driver of the Jeep, Karen Chyanne Norris, 19, of Creston, was no
