SAN ANTONIO — A grieving father is waiting for answers in the death of his son who investigators say was discovered in a hot car Saturday by his mother.

Bexar County deputies were called to a home in the 7000 block of Chancery Gate on the northwest side after reports of children inside a hot vehicle.

Investigators say 6-year-old Sevani Stevenson and his 3-year-old sister, Miyani Islar, died at the scene.

Their mother, 28-year-old Tiona Islar, is facing two counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury or death. Sheriff Javier Salazar said her story contained too many inconsistencies.

She told investigators she last saw her children around 8 a.m. when she went down for a nap. Around 3 p.m., she said she noticed the front door was open and discovered the children unconsciou
