Indonesian police intend to question three Australians about the death of a 23-year-old Queensland man whose body was found in a villa pool in Bali as his mother says she suspects foul play.

According to a Bali police report, officers want to speak to the three, who are thought to have been with Noosa fly-in, fly-out worker Byron James Dumschat before he died.

Documents seen by the ABC reveal Balinese authorities plan to ask the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to deliver the three Australians, who have since left Indonesia, to local police.

Mr Dumschat died at The Grove Bumbak, in Bali's Seminyak area, on May 26, where he had been staying with a friend.
