GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Affordable housing remains one of the biggest challenges for families across Northeast Florida. On Tuesday, a group of volunteers teamed up with Wells Fargo and Habitat for Humanity to help build affordable homes in Clay County.
Volunteers traded in their work clothes for hard hats in Green Cove Springs — working side by side to construct 32 new homes for local families.
One of those volunteers, Janie Moore, has lived in the community for 30 years, telling First Coast News giving back, even in small ways, can make a big difference.
“it’s good to give back if everybody just does a little part, pay for the coffee of the person in front of you, lay some grass for someone like I said just makes a world a better place,” said Moore.
