Visakhapatnam: Accenture is set to establish a new campus in Visakhapatnam.

The global IT services giant has sought 10 acres of land from the state government and proposed to generate around 12,000 jobs in phases through the project.

Officials said the request for land allocation is under active consideration and is likely to be approved shortly.

Accenture, which has a global workforce of 7.9 lakh, employs over 1 lakh people in India. Following the pandemic, major tech firms have been expanding into tier-2 cities, and Visakhapatnam has emerged as a prime destination under the new IT policy introduced by the coalition government, which offers substantial subsidies to investors.
