The Idaho Transportation Department has plans to make major improvements on I-15 between Exits 89 and 93 in Blackfoot.

The construction is part of a plan to improve the stretch of Interstate between Pocatello and Idaho Falls.

The plan includes lengthening the on and off ramps that connect I-15, and increase vertical clearance over US 26, a re-design of the South Blackfoot Interchange and improvements to the North Blackfoot Interchange.

The project will also include widening I-15 by adding one additional lane in each direction.
