SNOWFLAKE, AZ (AZFamily) — A usually quiet community in northern Arizona was hit with a string of crimes that law enforcement believes are all connected.

With a population just over 6,000, the town of Snowflake doesn’t see a lot of chaos, and crime is rarely top of mind for residents. However, that changed last week after two deaths and multiple fires all occurred within one morning.

Dawson Porter lives in the Snowflake area and drives on Concho Highway several times a week.

However, last Thursday, two people were killed, and then fires sprang up all within a mile of the Concho Highway and White Antelope Road intersection just outside of town.

“It’s quiet and nice people,” Porter said. “It was scary at first, but I hope people are safe.”
