LOUDONVILLE, NY (NEWS10) -- Year two of the Gerry McNamara era is officially underway for the Siena men's basketball team. The Saints held their first official practice Tuesday. With a lot of core contributors back this season, expectations are high in Loudonville.
The Saints bring back nine players from last year's team that went 9-11 in the MAAC. That's become rare in college basketball with the transfer portal. Four of the nine started at least 15 games for Siena last season.
The Saints also brought in three transfers, including former Albany Academy standout Riley Mulvey, transferring from the University of Iowa. Add in five freshman, and McNamara has a lot to work with.
