United Way of Baroda announces refunds after muddy Garba ground sparks protests September 24, 2025
Vadodara: The United Way of Baroda (UWB) organisers have announced refunds for patrons upset over the soggy ground on the opening night of Navratri celebrations.
On Tuesday, organisers said around 700 patrons returned their passes at the UWB office following Monday night’s inconvenience. Refunds were processed between 10 am and 3 pm.
The issue flared up on the first night when a group of garba players staged a protest on the ground, raising slogans and demanding refunds. The disruption briefly halted celebrations. Renowned garba singer Atul Purohit, a star attraction at the UWB which draws nearly 28,000 patrons each night, stepped in to calm the crowd, urging players to continue and allow
