Odisha is on high alert as a low-pressure system has formed near the northeastern Bay of Bengal, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue warnings of heavy rainfall across the state until September 28.
The system is expected to bring intense showers accompanied by thunder and lightning, with the most severe impact projected for September 25.
The IMD has issued an orange warning for Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh districts, while the remaining 27 districts are under yellow alert. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea until September 26 due to turbulent conditions. Authorities are taking proactive measures, including public announcements and strict enforcement of safety protocols, to minimize risks and ensure preparedness.
