In a troubling case from Vasant Kunj, South West Delhi, Chinmayanad Saraswati, also known as Parthasarthi or Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, has been charged with sexually harassing multiple female students at a private engineering institute. The police report indicates that the accused is currently absconding.

The allegations came to light after a complaint was filed on August 4, 2025, by P.A. Murli, the Administrator of Sri Sringeri Math & Its Properties. The victims, who are pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) courses under the EWS scholarship, reported harassment at the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management. According to police, between 12 to 15 girls may have been affected.

Investigators have recorded statements from 32 female students, with 17 of them detailing experiences of abusive language, obscene messages, and unwanted physical contact from the accused. Some students also alleged that faculty and administrative staff pressured them to comply with his demands.

Following these statements, a case was registered at Vasant Kunj North Police Station under various sections of the law. Police have reviewed CCTV footage and conducted raids at the institute and other locations linked to the accused. They seized hard disks and NVRs for forensic examination.

Additionally, statements from 16 victims have been recorded in court. During the investigation, authorities found a high-end Volvo car belonging to the accused parked in the institute’s basement. The vehicle was discovered to have a forged diplomatic United Nations number plate, which has since been confirmed as fake. A separate FIR has been registered regarding the vehicle.

In response to the allegations, the Sri Sharada Peetham has cut all ties with the accused, condemning his actions as “illegal, inappropriate and detrimental to the interests of the Peetham.” They have lodged complaints with the relevant authorities and emphasized their commitment to student welfare.

The police are actively searching for the accused and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
