Denny Granum, a longtime pillar of the Grand Junction business community who helped it rally during its darkest days, was honored by the Grand Junction Lions Club on Tuesday as the 2025 Lion of the Year.

In a ceremony at Bookcliff Country Club attended by his fellow Lions and some family members, the club announced — to Granum’s surprise — that he was the recipient of the annual honor.

Granum, 84, expressed his gratitude to the members of the club of which he once served as president.
