INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Concerns over the harsh treatment endured by the league's brightest and most popular star grew last night, as WNBA players used Caitlin Clark's head as a ball for several minutes of play.
Aggressive, physical play dominated throughout the Indiana Fever's 88-71 victory over the Connecticut Sun, so much so that referees failed to notice that, at one point in the second half, Connecticut players were dribbling Clark's head instead of a basketball.
"Each team had possession of Clark's head and used it to score several times," said referee Ashley Gloss. "While the game may have gotten out of hand at times, leading to Clark's head being removed from her body and used as a ball, both teams had equal chances to throw her head into the basket, so there was no preferential treat
