Stansted Airport incident: A fire erupted at Stansted Airport around 3:30 AM today, causing panic and forcing hundreds of passengers to evacuate. The blaze, which started in the escape lounge, was quickly extinguished by the Airport Fire Service, but thick smoke filled the terminal, creating chaos and travel disruptions.

Passengers were moved to the departure lounge as a precaution and temporarily barred from passing through security checkpoints , delaying departures.

Flights delayed amid airport emergency

Although the fire was contained quickly, many flights were delayed due to the disruption. The airport confirmed that both departures and arrivals have resumed, but passengers are advised to check with their airlines for updates as waiting times may be longer than usual.
