The Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, will celebrate World Tourism Day 2025 with a series of events across the Islands, focusing on the theme “Tourism & Sustainable Transformation” , in line with the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) global theme.

The celebrations aim to promote responsible tourism that safeguards the environment while driving socio-economic growth. A range of activities has been planned to actively involve stakeholders, tourists, and the local community.

Highlights of the celebrations include:

Underwater Photography Contest (Sept. 20–25): Showcasing the Islands’ rich marine biodiversity.

Volleyball Tournament (Sept. 25–26, 9 AM–5 PM): To be held at Mini Stadium, Wimberl
