Kadapa mayor disqualified for doing contracts

The Andhra Pradesh government has disqualified YSR Congress party leader and Kadapa mayor Suresh Babu from his post, on the charges of doing contracts despite being a public servant.

The municipal administration department issued a notification to this effect on Wednesday after conducting a due inquiry into the complaint lodged by the local Telugu Desam Party MLA R Madhavi Reddy and concluded that allegations of conflict of interest against him were valid.

Madhavi Reddy alleged that Suresh Babu’s family members were involved in municipal civil contracts. A vigilance inquiry confirmed the charges and submitted its findings to the state government.
