The Maharashtra government has approved a free land to Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) for setting up a super speciality hospital at Achole in Nalasopara.
The decision was announced after a cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, September 23. It is pertinent to note that the decision on the hospital comes ahead of the civic polls in which the BJP is eyeing a win. This land in Mauje-Achole was reserved for the District Court and residential area. Therefore, the proposal to change this reservation and transfer the land for the hospital was approved.
Considering Vasai-Virar's rapidly growing population and the citizens' need for modern healthcare facilities, MLA Rajan Balkrishna Naik had requested the land be given to the Municipal Corporation
