Minor volcanic eruptions were observed twice within eight days at Barren Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, officials reported on Monday.

Barren Island is recognized as India’s only active volcano.

The volcano experienced eruptions on September 13 and 20, though these were minor in nature, officials stated.
