Tehri’s chief education officer, SP Semwal has resigned from his post, citing his anguish over not getting the promotion due to him. He sent his resignation letter to the State’s education secretary, Ravinath Raman, informing him of his displeasure over the department’s apathy regarding his overdue promotion.

Reportedly, Semwal was due to be promoted to the post of additional director and his promotion was scheduled in February this year.

He wrote in the letter that despite fulfilling all the required criteria for the promotion, he had been kept deprived of it and so he had been constrained to quit.
