The Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved the redevelopment of 4,973 flats across 498 plots in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Nagar, Andheri (West). The project, to be executed through the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), is among the largest redevelopment initiatives undertaken by the authority in Mumbai.
SVP Nagar, originally developed in 1993 under a World Bank-assisted housing scheme for Low Income Group (LIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) families, spans hundreds of plots. The colony comprises:

24 high-income apartment plots
62 individual plots (60 sq m each)
