Dani Dyer has thanked her fans for their outpouring of love and support after she was forced to drop out of Strictly Come Dancing due to an injury. The former Love Island star suffered a fall during a dance rehearsal and fractured her ankle, forcing her to pull out of the competition just days after the launch show, during which she was partnered with professional Nikita Kuzmin. Shortly after her withdrawal was announced, a "heartbroken" Dani posted an emotional video on her Instagram Stories to thank everyone for their supportive response to her news. "I'm gonna try and do this without crying. I'm so heartbroken. I've not felt like this in such a long time," she began, her voice wavering with emotion. "I was having the best time ever and yeah, it's just a very, very annoying, devastating thing that I'm going through right now. "I'm probably gonna have a few days off my socials, just to process things, but I just want to thank you all so much for all your love and support. But yeah, I'm gutted. I'm absolutely gutted. I love everyone at Strictly; it's absolutely amazing. All the cast, I'm gonna miss them all so much, but I will eventually come along and cheer them on. I just want to thank you all so much for the love." In her original statement, Dani revealed that she "landed funny" during her fall in rehearsals on Friday, and her foot "swelled up badly" over the weekend. After an MRI scan on Monday showed that she had fractured her ankle, doctors advised her against dancing, prompting her to drop out of the show. In the comments of the announcement, the TV personality received support from her dad, Danny Dyer, who left a heartbroken emoji, Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman, who posted five heart emojis, and fellow Strictly contestant Vicky Pattison, who wrote, "Absolutely devastated for you Dani... I'm going to miss you so much... Love you loads."
