Bonus: The central government has approved the productivity-linked bonus for railway employees, offering it as a Diwali gift, according to CNBC TV-18 Awaaz. It is expected to benefit 10.9 lakh employees of Indian Railway. The government’s exchequer will bear the expenditure of Rs 1,866 crore for 2024-25.
The Union Cabinet last year approved payment of a productivity-linked bonus for over 11.72 lakh railway employees on October 03. The Cabinet approved a productivity-linked bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages for railway employees, amounting to Rs 2,029 crore.
