A staff member at Naples Central School District has officially resigned following weeks of public outcry over alleged social media comments made in response to the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk .
Superintendent Kevin Swartz confirmed the resignation in a statement issued this week, noting the district now considers the matter resolved.
"This has been a difficult time for NCSD, and I hope we can now return our focus to all that is positive within our district," Swartz said.
The controversy began in early September after the district received complaints about the employee’s personal social media activity. The staff member had been placed on leave pending an internal investigation.
