Abhishek Sharma has lit up the Asia Cup 2025 with his fearless batting at the top, setting the base of India’s unbeaten run so far. The young opener has scored at a rapid pace and racked up 173 runs from four innings at a whopping strike-rate of 208.43.
While his exploits have been limited to T20Is, former India batter Navjot Singh Sidhu feels that alongside Shubman Gill, Abhishek should become part of all three formats for India.
Sidhu predicted that Abhishek has the ability to emulate the legendary Virender Sehwag who was known for his attacking approach with the bat irrespective of the format. Sehwag was known for his ability to play big shots from the very first ball and was part of Indian squads that won the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
