EAST LANSING — Kristen Kelsey paused a good 10 seconds when asked to describe what she found when she took over Michigan State’s volleyball program last winter.

“I found a group that was really hungry, and they were hungry for connection, and they were hungry for unity, honestly,” Kelsay said Tuesday.
