The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case against designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of the U.S.-based banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) for allegedly attempting to instigate Sikh soldiers to stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi from hoisting the national flag at Red Fort on August 15, for which he offered a ₹11-crore reward.

Following a reference from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the agency has instituted the case based on “credible” information and a video posted via the official X handle of the outfit, on August 10, in which Pannun declared reward to prevent the Prime Minister from hoisting the national flag.
