JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Trident Medical Center will break ground Thursday on an emergency room facility in the Johns Island community.
This will mark the first ER for Johns Island and will provide urgent care access to nearly 28,000 residents. It is expected to have 11 patient rooms, including a designated trauma room, and an in-house diagnostics lab.
Jeff Wilson, president and CEO of Trident Health and Trident Medical Center, said the new facility will provide 24/7 emergency care and will have access to advanced procedural and inpatient care.
It will be located along Maybank Highway. Construction is expected to take 11 months.
