While many know Greggs for their sausage rolls and hot pastry selection, the popular British bakery chain is making a surprise u-turn by opening up its first ever pub. ‌

Set to be called The Golden Flake Tavern, shoppers will be able to enjoy a refreshing pint along with a tasty Greggs inspired menu. ‌

Opening up in Fenwick shop in Eldon Square, Newcastle, on September 27, fans of the chain will need to be quick to get a slice of the action as it is only expected to be open for around five months. ‌

Along with a selection of popular beers on draft, fans will also be able to enjoy two exclusive beers - named the Pink Jammie Pale Ale and the Gosforth 1939 Stottie Lager. These were created in partnership with Newcastle-based Full Circle Brew Co
