Nifty 50 closed at 25,060.00, down by 110.25 points (-0.44%). Bank Nifty closed at 55,128.40, down by 378.20 points (-0.68%). Sensex closed at 81,730.10, down by 385 points (-0.46%).
Biggest Nifty losers were Tata Motors, Wipro, Bharat Electronics, Jio Financial, Hero MotoCorp, while gainers included HUL, Nestle, NTPC, JSW Steel, and Power Grid. Except for FMCG, all other sectoral indices ended in the red with auto, IT, media, metal, oil & gas, and realty down 0.5-2%. The BSE midcap index shed nearly 0.9% and the smallcap index was down 0.5%.
