The owners of a Bolton restaurant which recently closed its doors have spoken about a bizarre incident where people flocked to the venue to claim their furniture.

Retreat, situated on Chorley New Road, has served the area since 2009 with its menu of steaks, burgers, hand-stretched pizzas, small plates, and Sunday roasts. But earlier this month, the team behind the bar and grill announced it was closing down with ‘a lot of memories’ due to rising costs.

The Bolton closure was met with sadness from members of the local community, who said it was going to be a ‘great loss to the area’. The two remaining Retreat venues, in Bromley Cross and Adlington, continue to operate as normal.
