OCONTO, Wis. (WBAY) - The suspect in the hit-and-run that killed a retired Green Bay police detective was ruled competent to stand trial.

Online records show results of Obilio Sargento Roblero were shared during a competency hearing in Oconto County court on Tuesday.

Tests deemed Sargento incompetent back in March . He was required to take the exam every 3 months until it was determined he was competent or until his statutory time limit passed.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office accuses Sargento of hitting Tom Roberts and then skipping town.

Deputies say the former detective was hit while he was helping someone on a UTV in Gillett in October 2024.

Authorities later arrested Sargento in Arkansas.
