In his Sept. 19 column, Marc Thiessen rightly decried the assassination of Charlie Kirk (“Best way to honor Kirk’s memory is civil discourse,” Star-Advertiser). He praised Kirk’s commitment to freedom of speech and civil discourse with his opponents. Thiessen abhors those who reject tolerance and seek to crush all dissent.

Can we look forward to a future column from Thiessen castigating President Donald Trump, who rejects tolerance and crushes all dissent? Trump insults anyone with differing views from him on Truth Social (an inappropriate name if there ever was one). He fires them, if possible, or files a lawsuit against them. Even if they win the suit, they are stuck with enormous legal bills.

Come on, Mr. Thiessen. Let’s hear from you about our president who, to quote your description
