A leading UK travel firm has provided an update on the new rules for anyone travelling from the UK to Europe, set to come into effect next month. Any port or airport claiming they are "not ready" for new EU border controls are "just saying they didn't do a good job", according to the boss of Eurotunnel.
The European Union's Entry/Exit System (EES), due to be gradually introduced from October, will require passengers to have their photo and fingerprints taken when travelling to the EU. These checks will apply to non-EU citizens at the Port of Dover, the Channel Tunnel and on Eurostar, while those arriving by air will be registered upon landing.
