Framed for posterity the memento could easily work as a billboard image for Thursday’s Europa League showdown between the clubs in Austria. ‌

But this double souvenir is no throwaway poster. It’s a tale forged in the Champions League over the course of 24 years - and one which means the two clubs will forever be enshrined in Johnston family history. ‌

The blue side of the keepsake belongs to dad Allan and serves as a permanent reminder of a never-to-be-forgotten Champions League debut for Rangers against Sturm Graz in 2000.

The Graz jersey is that worn by son Max from his own bow at the top table of European football FOR the Austrian champions last year.
