Sadiq Khan has hit back at Donald Trump after the US president launched another outspoken attack on the London mayor.
Trump found time to slam the Labour politician during a speech at the United Nations’ general assembly in New York, calling him a “terrible mayor” who wanted to introduce “Sharia Law” to the city.
The remarks came just days after Trump visited the UK for a state visit.
“I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor, and it’s been changed, it’s been so changed,” he said.
“Now they want to go to Sharia Law. But you are in a different country, you can’t do that.”
Asked by Sky News to respond to these remarks, Khan said he appears to be “living rent free inside Donald Trump’s head”.
