Strong storms are possible Thursday, with damaging wind gusts as the greatest threat. Heavy downpours will be possible on Friday and Saturday. This may lead to flooding issues.

In the short term, hot and dry weather continues across the region today, with highs climbing into the low to mid-90s. Humidity levels will also be on the rise, making it feel more uncomfortable than in recent days. Heat index values could reach the upper 90s this afternoon, which is unusually warm for late September.
